As Stereogum says, “Happiness is a great feeling; Happyness is a great band.” Their “pop pocket symphonies” are infused with Pavement and Yo La Tengo. As NPR says the band “is three guys from London with a breathtaking range of sounds, like Wilco crossed with Sparklehorse.” A Pavement, Yo La Tengo, Wilco, Sparklehorse -ishishish concert? How can you miss out?
Active Bird Community (+Apeman)

Active Bird Community might just be Big Bird working out, or the four piece rock band from NYC migrating back to Wes for their second show of the semester. They ride the line between fuzz/feather rock and indie rock and they’ve mastered the art of taking and breaking hearts, maybe.
Apeman… not to be confused with Birdman... is a three piece alt rock band with roots in the suburbs of NYC and Massachusetts. They perform “scrap metal” rock, combining familiar and foreign melodies and rhythms to create a sound they describe as “uncanny.” Come see them "fly"?

Jaime de Venecia's Thesis

Wesleyan senior Jaime de Venecia (aka jdv plus) performs his senior thesis “empty_mirror” on Sunday evening. Perhaps his “parting gift” of electronic music will evolve from his repertoire of dimly-lit chillwave-inspired electronic tunes, or perhaps not; Jaime’s influence feels multifaceted. Jaime’s thesis features contributions by fresh heiress (Mia Rossi ‘14), BEAMS (Zachary Kantor ‘15), drones (Keenan Burgess ‘16), and wlcm.home (Alex Rowland ‘16) and accompanying his performance will be a set of live visuals by Saarim Zaman ‘16. Anybody But the Cops (+SAD)
Art House // Sunday 8 PM
Anybody But the Cops are a Michigan hardcore trio rooted in abrasive math rock. Breakdowns, cheesegrater-to-the-face guitar tones, abrupt changes and general tomfoolery to be expected. Sunday nights never rocked this hard before.
Wes band SAD will make you cry and remind you of your teenage angst. If you like wearing all black, if you listened to Sunny Day Real Estate in high school, or if you’re just totally emo, come and nod your head awkwardly to some jams.
