Weekly Track Roundup 11/7/22: Songs to Download a Car To
Welcome back to the Roundup Circuit(™). This batch of songs is for downloading a car to (or whatever adrenaline-fueled getaway scenario you can imagine). Enjoy!
Death Grips - “You Might Think He Loves You for Your Money but I Know What He Really Loves You for It’s Your Brand New Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat”
Firstly, this song has a ridiculous title and is the ideal name of a song to listen to when downloading a car. Secondly, the actual song itself is very weird, loud, electronic, and chaotic and if I saw someone downloading a car in a movie I’d imagine this to be the perfect song for it.
-Lily Lazar
Gesaffelstein - “Pursuit”
*puts on hacker glasses*
-Nathan Hausspiegel
Talking Heads - “Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On)”
DON'T YOU MISS IT? (the car)
DON'T YOU MISS IT? (I downloaded it)
LAST TIME TO MAKE PLANS (to download a car to)
-Elijah Davis
Young Nudy - “EA” (feat. 21 Savage)
If this song is ever played in a group setting, for 3 minutes and 47 seconds I am no longer myself. This song will instantly turn you into the hardest, most aggressive version of yourself imaginable. Looking to break a PR in Freeman or unlock an inner beast? Play this. I promise you’ll see good results.
-Emmett Favreau
Van Halen - “Jump”
I love how high energy this song is, and I think that if I were downloading a car, I'd need that energy to help me along.
-Maisie Wrubel
The Kills - “Doing It to Death”
To me, this song will always be the insidious foreplay between woman and a very sexy car (the song was used in the film, Titane (2021).) So if you interpret "download a car" to be creating a half-human, half-car hybrid—this is the song.
-Alexandra Taylor
Jamiroquai - “Virtual Insanity”
Jamiroquai comes in strong with a tune that I've downloaded many a car to. This song has a certain funk and swagger that makes me feel like not doing what I'm told. The System: "You wouldn't download a car" Me: "Duhhh, you wouldn't download this poopoo peepee!" Jamiroquai: "Oh, there's nothing so bad as a man-made man, oh yeah, I know yeah, ooh"
-Terry Brannigan
NOVAGANG & quinn - “PURPLE RAIN”
impeccable vibe composed of waves of synthesizers , trap drums, and the occasional nonsensical sample to pad out space for the attention deficit . the kind of internet surrealism that only someone who was an actual child at the time could properly capture. known to increase car download speeds to an average of 0.7 windshield wipers per second
