Weekly Track Roundup: Songs that Make You Feel Like the Meme of the Wolf Ripping the Shirt Off
Do you have trouble outpizzaing the Hut? Do you passionately love people who don’t conform to conventional gender standards? Feeling desperate to escape the standards of modern life? These are your songs.
Dio - End of the World
There are three main reasons I chose this song - first the album art is honestly super similar to the style of the werewolf meme's style. Second, Dio's voice in this album gives off angsty teenager more than his others imo. Thirdly, when he sings "end of the world" in this song it sounds like he just ripped his shirt off. I recommend the album as a whole, it's called "Master of the Moon".

Pierce The Veil & Kellin Quinn - King For A Day
Honestly most emo songs from this song's era would've worked perfectly for this theme, but this song immediately came to my mind. With bars like "now terror begins inside a bloodless vein" and "we are the shadows screaming, take us now," this song perfectly encapsulates what it feels like to be a lone, misunderstood alpha wolf wanting to take control of the forest that's rightfully yours. The breakdown at 2:42 right after he screams "NOW THIS IS WARRR" is when the wolf tears his shirt off in a fit of rage and prowls around the forest for his next kill. What a banger.

EJECTDISK - Lycanthropy
Full disclosure- this is my song, I wrote it. It's me. But like- this is literally what it's about. It is in the title. I can self promo a little. Just a little

Vitesse X - End of Forever
I’ve been excited to listen to This Infinite ever since I heard Vitesse X’s debut album Us Ephemeral. The New York DJ channels hints of techno, jungle, and Detroit club in her atmospheric record with meaty production. Her sophomore album, released October 4th, 2024, leans more into dreamy sounds while retaining elements of DnB. A song that stuck out is “End of Forever” which encapsulates what I love about her music. It’s both ethereal and energetic— perfect to work out, dance, or even study to.

Mew - Comforting Sounds
There’s a drop in this song that would definitely get you ripping your shirt off… if you’re a wolf, that is. But also just such a good song.
—Graham Johnson
Brand New - Sowing Season (Yeah)
Picture this: you're walking through the woods frantically searching for a place to hide. A wolf has just bitten you and you're terrified you're going to turn at any second. You're running. They're gaining on you. It's too late(This is all happening during the first minute of this song). Without realizing you've just sprinted into a large clearing and the moon is full. Finally the chorus hits, and with all the angst of a little emo teenager you rip your shirt off as you transform into the thing you were always meant to be: a monster.
—Charles Pasca
Falling in Reverse - Good Girls Bad Guys
When I see the way she looks at me, I feel like a fraud. Pookie, whose smile makes salt turn into sugar, couldn't have known who I was before she met me or she wouldn't have stayed. I'm not the man she deserves but I would do anything in my power to keep her safe. Even if that means unleashing my true self. 🐺🐺🐺

Bladee - TERRIBLE EXCELLENCE (ft. Yung Lean)
I WANNA KILL EVERYTHING AND BE NOTHING
