This Friday, head to Earth House for their first show of the year, where you will be treated to some grungy post-punk and noise-pop. Then on Saturday, X-House is hosting YEEK, an LA based hiphop artist. On Monday, support Girltype Behaviors at the the MAC 650 Gallery as they open for Terror Pigeon.
Young Jesus (+ Pope, & Saint Something)

Young Jesus is a versatile quartet out of Los Angeles, California. They effortlessly ebb in and out of genres from punk to jazz to rock ‘n’ roll to grunge. In doing so, they utilize the full dynamic range of all their instruments. Kern Haug’s drums range from thoughtful to heavy. The bass and guitar range from ambient to distortion-rattled and hectic. The ever-vulnerable vocals of John Rossiter range from the feel of a man talking to himself in a room to a rough, gravelly yell. All of it is melded into brilliant tensions and releases throughout their 2 LP catalogue of studio-recorded songs. Their latest album “S / T” was released less than a month ago and since then they’ve been touring all over the country with Pope
Head of the Catholic Church, Interpreter of God’s word for the masses, Noise-Pop Sensation. Co-fronted by Matthew Seferian and Alejandro Skalany, and featuring drummer Atticus Lopez, Pope is an indie-rock trio hailing from Houston and currently based in New Orleans. They’re gearing up to release their newest album, True Talent Champion this November.
Saint Something is the combined creative talents of Carina Rosenbach ‘20, Anjali Desai ‘20, Ginger Hutchinson ‘20, and Luisa Bryan ‘21. The all-female identifying group is rapidly gaining momentum after a groundbreaking performance at the MASH. Don’t miss Saint Something’s sweet blend of heavenly harmonies, poetic lyrics, and tight songcraft. Performing with Pope and Young Jesus, Saint Something is the Holy Ghost in this Friday’s Earth House holy Trinity, if you will.

Yeek is an L.A. solo act who combines the sounds of hip-hop, neo-soul, and dreamy pop with a playful punk aesthetic. His mellow summery sound evokes Goldlink and Tyler the Creator. His newest project Sebastian was released in April.
LAZ is the Wesleyan rapper to watch this upcoming semester. Rapping effortlessly in both English and French, his music varies from laid-back boom bap to ominous trap. LAZ has been keeping busy recently – this will be his third performance of the 2017-2018 school year.
The Brooklyn native, KFeelz '18, has a deep love for a wide range of music -- from afro-beats to techno, KFeelz explores creating vibrant and energetic space through pulsating rhythms and positivity. She’s also part of a newly formed women of color Dj collective Miss/chief.
Terror Pigeon (+ Space Camp, Girltype Behaviors, & Perennial)

Terror Pigeon is a band / performance project / gym class from Nashville, TN. Neil Fridd makes violently cathartic anthems for positive mental attitude and spiritual healing and forever friendship. The Terror Pigeon live experience has included lasers, fog machines, yard inflatables, Lion King projections, stuffed animal bouquets, and parachute games. The scene teambuilding exercise that CT needs right now -- jump in and let your heart explode.
SPACE CAMP is jams for the femme chaos. Scathing and pointed critiques of patriarchy, "the scene", body shaming, transphobia, et al., filtered through cacophonous and kitchen-sink heavy sounds. Space Camp brings the pain directed towards all stripes of harsh masculinities and brings all the soft people in to crush that hot garbage with them.
Girltype Behaviors are a Wesleyan band bringing slick and fun post-punk outside of the campus bubble and into a greater context. Shake your butt and support the cross-pollination!
Perennial features members of Aeroplane 1929 and Lion Cub, and sounds nothing like those nice sweet indie rock bands of New England days gone by. This is post-hardcore for the sake of the boogie and for the sake of the collective consciousness. They urge you to move - mentally, physically, or otherwise - call and response, 1-2-3's, and more, to engage you, reciprocally.
