Weekend Preview 10/7 - 10/9

It's an action packed few days. Noname, Phatrabbit, and probably some others. Get your game face on and your *ss outs*de, it's the WEEKEND PREVIEW.

Noname + DJ Dreamgirl + Kfeelz

Malcolm x house // friday 10:30

Facebook Event

Noname is one of Chicago’s fastest rising hip hop stars. Her beats are slick, her rhymes are sick, and she’s been featured on mixtapes by everyone from Mick Jenkins to Chance the Rapper. However, she shouldn’t be defined by her guest appearances, she’s a powerhouse in her own right. Her debut mix Telefone is one of 2016’s best pieces of music, and she’ll be here to lay it down live for us here at Wes. Hope you got on the guest list (we didn’t!) because it’ll be a night to remember.

Prod. Phoelix, Cam O’bi Additional vocals: Phoelix Artwork by Nikko Washington Mixed & Mastered by Elton “L10MixedIt” Chueng

DJ Dreamgirl (Evelysse Vargas ‘17) is famous. in Brazil. Be sure not to miss Dreamgirl’s set, which is promised to be filled with the best of Solange’s new LP.

Kfeelz, also known as Kafilah Muhammad ‘18, is one to look out for. Born and bred in Brooklyn, Muhammad offers a variety of sounds and mixes on good ol’ tunes that you can definitely get down to. Be sure to check her out this Friday @ X house.

Phatrabbit + BOSSY + DJ Lloyd

Music house // Saturday 10:00

Facebook Event

Phatrabbit are a group of seniors who’ve been rockin’ Wesleyan since they were wee freshmen. They play INDIE ROCK!!! Only now, they’re ready to debut their brand new album. Get ready for the Aural Wes promo hype.

BOSSY - Not quite pop, not quite punk, BOSSY is Jackie Manginelli (‘19, lead vocals, triangle), Beth Townsend (‘19, guitar, vocals), Helly Manson (‘19, drums), Ona Lepeska-True (‘19, bass, vocals), and Mika (‘19, keyboard, vocals). Their band-inspo playlist includes “American Boy” by Estelle, “It Wasn’t Me” by Shaggy, and “Dancing on My Own” by Robyn. Scrappy and full of regret.

Not many people know the real identity of DJ Lloyd since he spends all his spotlight time hidden behind his trademark large white sunglasses. One thing we can say about the man is he really knows how to lay down the grooves. As his shirt suggests, everything DJ Lloyd touches is “solid gold”. So if you want to hear some bass drops, record scratches, remixes, etc., this guy has what you need.
