From bands to DJs to bands, we've got a lot of good music this weekend to spice up, rice up, and most importantly, slice up, your sonic palette.
Good Morning Connecticut and Badabing
Earth House // Friday 10:30 PM
Good Morning Connecticut is a five piece, sophomore, funk-y rock collective that just wants everyone to have a good time. just trying to bring positive vibes and a sweet lil sound to the Wesleyan music scene. Sam McCarthy ‘20 (guitar and vocals), Ava Thornton ‘20 (vocals), Cal Mirowitz ‘20 (keys and vocals), Gabe Leeman ‘20 (bass and vocals), Will Jacobson (drum and vocals).
Badabing is indie exercise music. Badabing is influenced by JJ Cale, Etta James, Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse, Brian Wilson and the Wes music scene at large. Badabing is Nick Catrambone (‘21), Jamee Lockard (‘21), and Charlie Kilgore (‘21).
Beshken (+ Goth Girlfriend, DJ Chachi, & Whet)

NYC-based producer Beshken (a.k.a. Ben Shirken) a rising beatmaker, and trained in jazz is making his Wesleyan debut.
"Originally trained as a jazz guitarist, Beshken first became interested in dance music while DJing house parties and clubs in Los Angeles. Heavily influenced by the city's rich, colorful, and diverse sounds, he has cultured his identity, ideology, and musical dexterity with constant artistic and introspective development. Now based in Brooklyn, 21-year-old Ben Shirken creates a lush and effervescent atmosphere of sound by blending elements of electronic music, jazz, and indie rock. His live show blends electronic and organic elements with custom visuals to create an audio/visual experience, one that reflects his curiosity to combine real-world sounds with digital elements."
Goth Girlfriend, aka Gaby Giangola, is a DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist from New York City. A Wesleyan alum, she began her career as a DJ at Wes and has continued to perform throughout New York City. She released her first solo album, Sr. Yr. , her senior project, under the named LARS. The project fused genres such as experimental electronic, indie, and classical.

Sirintip Performance and Masterclass

Sirintip, a rising star on GroundUP Music, will perform and teach a masterclass on musician life after college this Sunday at Music House as part of her breakout tour!
Stretching across three continents and cultures (Thailand, Sweden and America), Sirintip’s remarkable debut album Tribus — produced by three-time Grammy winner Michael League of
Snarky Puppy — is a gathering of different moments from the last four years of the singer/composer life. It’s an exciting, eclectic work that touches on pop, R&B, electronic and jazz, while creating a sound uniquely its own.
Born in Thailand, Sirintip moved with her mother to Sweden at the age of 11. A student of classical piano, violin and double bass, her study of jazz would eventually take her from the Royal College of Music to (years later) the prestigious Manhattan School of Music. This musical appreciation and study would pay off years later, when Michael League discovered the singer working at a jazz club in Stockholm. Recognizing an adventurous and like-minded musical spirit, the Snarky Puppy bandleader told Sirintip to send some music and “give him a call” if she ever moved to New York. Sirintip did end up helping Snarky Puppy’s Bill Laurance on his album Swift. She also moved to New York to pursue her Master’s Degree. While going to school, performing and competing in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition, she also began work on Tribus, with League in the producer’s chair. Sirintip uses everything she has to her advantage — clout in both the pop and jazz worlds, tri-lingual vocal ability, and the soaring ethereal elegance of her Scandinavian upbringing and the percussive sharpness of her Thai roots,” says League. “Her desire to explore, though, shines through it all.”
