Earth House becomes witch-house. A guitarist-o legend returns to campus. And MORE.

Pictureplane (+ Saarim)

Earth House // Thursday 9 PM

Facebook event

Travis Egedy is Pictureplane; Pictureplane is deep, dark, synth, dance, "witch," semi-Pitchfork approved; semi-Pitchfork approved is dirty, semi-impressive, and goth. Egedy first appeared on the music scene in Denver where he came up with his name while living and playing at a warehouse called Rhinoceropolis. Expect lots of sweat and sexuality. Egedy also hates Pitchfork. Poor Pitchfork.

DJ Rimjob, Saarim, DJ Rimless, Rimless, Saraam XO, SRM. Who is this guy? It’s Saarim!  From Eclectic’s sweaty, laser-crossed Chana party to the Freshman-haze WestCo Disco, he’s been stirring dance floors into frenzies for the last year. Get ready to move.

Personal Space & Face of Man

Eclectic // Thursday 9 PM

Facebook event

The Face of Man project performs an odd species of pop that blends shifting meters, layered guitar lines, falsetto vocals, electronics, improvisation, and artisanal rhythms.

Personal Space works interlocking harmonies and prog-pop rhythms into complex song structures that keep you guessing. Don’t miss this heady math-rock experience.

Delicate Steve

(+ Star Rover & Sun Looks Down)

Buddhist House // Friday 10 PM

Facebook event

Who is Delicate Steve? Wikipedia raves: “hand-crafted with elements of progressive-rock, folksy twang, African rhythm, and 1970s pop or surf-rock.” New Jersey-based frontman Steve Marion cites Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, and Vampire Weekend as influences. He creates a unique, multilayered sound by incorporating elements of pop and psychedelic music. He will be touring with Tame Impala this November, so go check him out before he gets too famous!

What's the appetizer? Check out the slow, smooth jams of psychedelic dream pop band Sun Looks Down and tight post-punk-y, patriotic folk grooves of Star Rover.

Don Froot (+ Rui Barbosa)

Earth House // Saturday 10 PM

Facebook event

Blending styles from that groovy-latin-record-your-mom-plays-in-the-station-wagon to the jazz you've heard in the cafe down the block, Don Froot is that sweet, sweet song that keeps Georgia on your mind.

Forged from the remains of the acclaimed band Centre Street, Rui Barbosa is Wesleyan's newest band comprised of some of the most talented musicians on this campus.
