Weekly Track Roundup: 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 Songs
The year’s first Weekly Track Roundup heralds a lot of things — new writers, new words, new curated combinations of words. This time, we decided on 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 songs. Let’s not waste any more time.
A Tribe Called Quest — Enough!!
Although A Tribe Called Quest has two much more famous "freaky songs" in Electric Relaxation & Hot Sex, I always have to shout out my favorite album of all time - We Got it From Here, Thank U 4 Your Service. This song, just like a lot on this album, is much more experimental than their previous 5 albums, and has an ethereal vibe that's interrupted by Q-Tip just being horny.
—Tobias Adler
Pepper Coyote — No Cock Like Horse Cock
My best friend always puts this song on full volume whenever he gets in my car. The meaningful, deep, and extremely vivid lyrics never fail to put a smile on my face. Definitely the freakiest song I know that's also just such a bop, highly recommend giving it a listen!!
—Megan Athey
Snow Strippers — Under Your Spell
for when u wanna get freaky but also get down crayz style in the club w your girls if that's what you desire. although i wouldnt recommend stripping in the snow to this song i dont think its the vibe
—Elijah Davis
Denzel Curry — Ice Age
This song contains one of the freakiest, grossest, freak nasty freakazoid bars I have EVER heard in my LIFE. I'm not going to paste it hear, but if you know it, you know. Thank god Denzel has calmed himself.
—Emmett Favreau
Briston Maroney — Freakin’ Out On the Interstate
The title, duh.
—Graham Glassner
Link Wray — The Swag
So says the godfather of trash.
—Aubree Gottesman
TV on the Radio — Lover's Day
I've been revisiting TVOTR in the wake of their residencies announcement — this song is so gorgeous that it's honestly surprising how aggressively horny it is
—Max Levin
Ginuwine — Pony
“Pony” is R&B perfection. It’s passion, bravado, and indulgence wrapped into a giant cigar that you smoke as you gaze out into the sea, leaning over the railing of your yacht.
—Conrad Lewis
Jhené Aiko & Swae Lee — Sativa
Shoutout to Vicky and Siggy for always dancing freaky to this song with me
—Nolan Lewis
Garbage — #1 Crush
This song can be described by the terms devotion and lust. The background adverbs are very suggestive to say the least and add the overall sensual tone of the song.
—Giovanna Milisic
Jane Remover — Magic I Want U
some of those lines in the outro are gonna live in my head for the rest of my life
—Cassandra Weigle
Justice — Stress
I discovered this song on a random website from 2012, and was hooked. My mind instantly gets transported to a dark Berlin warehouse club with red lights flashing, the smell of debauchery, and a feeling that vampires are definitely in attendance watching susceptible people. Just watch the opening scene of Blade if you have any questions.
—Angelica Mock
Slayyyter — Throatzillaaa
Just look at the title. Arguably the writing on the chorus is kind of boring but I love the industrial hyperpop production throughout and the synth-filled breakdown on the bridge is excellent. Some of my favorite lines have to be "Like baby lemme swallow them kids, look into my eyes while I'm rocking your shit", and the simple-but-effective "King Kong, I want the banana". Filled with thinly-veiled euphemisms this is a great song that I have listened to unironically.
—Charles Pasca
The SpongeBob SquarePants Closing Theme Song
Imagine you're getting hot and heavy with someone, the tension is palpable. The movement of time bends to your pleasure as electricity vibrates through your nervous system. They pull away, just for a moment, giving you pause. "Let me play something," they coo gently. Heavy breaths emerge from your anticipation before hearing a familiar tune. You think of the xanthic sponge of your childhood before you realize he's been standing in front of you the whole time. You had answered Freakbob's call, allowing him to take over you in a spirited moment of desire, 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 desire.
—Alexandra Taylor
Snoop Dogg — I’m Ya Dogg (feat. Kendrick Lamar and Rick Ross)
A relatively unpopular snoop banger produced by Pharrell so it’s just a bop. Kendrick is amazing on it but Rick Ross alone makes me play this on repeat.
—Mark Vinokur
