Cousin Stizz (+ Harlem nesh & We are djs)

X-HOUSE // THURSDAY 8:30 PM

Catch Cousin Stizz at X-House this weekend. The 23-year old rapper hails from Fields Corner, Boston, and the city is present in most of his songs, which detail his adolescence and desire to break out. Cousin Stizz got into music after he graduated high school when his friends encouraged him to take his free-styling talent seriously. His debut Suffolk County is a mellow, hook-driven album that includes stand-out tracks “Shoutout” and “Ain’t Really Much” which are smart and nonchalant in equal measure.

After nearly a decade break from putting out musical projects,  Harlem Nesh is back with new life to deliver her authentic, dynamic street sound. She draws inspiration from 90s and early 2000s hip hop and rap artists, but blends with it the energy and style of her hometown, Providence as well as Harlem. Check out her new mixtape tape, The Female Rich Porter,  before the show!

We are DJs will open the night with a DJ set. Rumor has it, they played an awesome set last weekend before the Milo show--I'm sure they'll deliver again this weekend.

MUSC 419: Symposium + Dinner

Memorial Chapel // Friday: Dinner at 6:00, Performances at 7:00

Facebook event

Music 419: Language of the Contemporary Music Business is a student forum that investigates the various roles within the music industry and how these different bodies come together and interact within  the field of music. The forum, made of Wesleyan producers, musical artists, and general appreciators of music, has created a final symposium project that includes presentations and performances that parallel the contemporary music industry. The Symposium will mainly feature presentations of songs written, recorded, and mastered by students in the forum. Included in the list of students presenting is Sahil Singhvi, AKA Jal, who opened for Chef just last weekend!

Come for dinner at 6, and stay for the performances at 7!

balkan Bash with Nice driveway & Slavei

Earth House // FRIDAY 10:30 PM

Facebook event

"You're not gonna wanna miss this epic Balkan Bash! Please come ready to dance your *** off."

Nice Driveway is Wes's newest and perhaps only Balkan funk-rock band. They're nice, they're funky, and they want you to come to their event ready to party.

Also performing is Slavei, Wes's oldest, (and zainest) Balkan a cappella group. Cassie is cool, so I'm sure this concert is going to be very cool.

EXistential (+ Marlonbrando & Stevie Bricks)

Westco Cafe // FRIDAY 10:30 PM

Facebook event

Come check out student rapper, EXistential, play his first show at Wesleyan. A Brooklyn-native, Adam Wells aka EXistential, is refreshingly aggressive and raw, passionately rapping over beats produced by many of his collaborators without sacrificing the consistent eloquence of his flow. His recently released project, EXistential Crisis, showcases his talent and gives you a preview of what is to come at his live performance. Because reading period begins Saturday night at midnight, this show will end before then, so come early! This isn't one to miss.

Opening for Existential are two back-to-back DJ sets by Wesleyan Djs, Marlonbrando and Stevie Bricks
