Spanning all spectrums of the Wesleyan music scene - from indie rock to alternative rock (kidding) - this weekend looks to be slappin' with shows lined up and down the block. Quelle Chris (+Jahmir & Jal, Lo-Qi)

Described by Pitchfork as a “low-key incisive weed-and-brew wiseass,” Quelle Chris is a Detroit rapper/producer who makes hip-hop that deals with the existential and the mundane. While his beats range from drugged-out to gospel-infused, his rhymes are delivered as if he’s kicking his feet up and talking about his day. What’s more, the lyric sheet on his new album “Being You Is Great, I Wish I Could Be You More Often” reads like a philosophy paper with its thoughtful ruminations on our personae and taboo issues of self-love. The album features guest production from the likes of MNDSGN and Alchemist and features guest verses from Jean Grae, Homeboy Sandman, and other rappers who invoke Quelle’s eccentric lyricism. After receiving recent praise from Pitchfork and Anthony Fantano, Quelle hopes to bring his new material to Wesleyan.
Just two weeks after an impressive set opening for Isaiah Rashad, Jahmir Duran-Abreu ’20 brings his passionate lyricism and fresh stage presence to MuHo. At his side once again will be his excellent live band, featuring Daphne Gampell (Vocals), Becket Cerny (Drums), Henry Hodder (Guitar), and Johnnie Gilmore (Bass). He'll also be joined by your grandma's favorite rapper, Jal (Sahil Singhvi '18).
Kicking the night off is Lo-Qi, an on-campus hip hop duo comprised of Jonah Toussaint ‘17 and Jack Graylin ‘17. You can check out a clip of them performing at 2016’s MASH below, featuring an explosive verse from Jonah.
Quarterbacks (+Goo & DJ Fuck What's My Name)

Dean Engle, the singer and guitarist of Quarterbacks, is playing a solo set that will be twee-punk in its purest form. He’ll play very very short songs that are guaranteed to make you feel feelings about stuff (namely family, girls, and your hometown).
Goo is Beck, Bram, and Sam. Is it a sly reference to the infamous Sonic Youth record? One third of the Goo Goo Dolls? A tribute to slime time live? We don't know, but they're opening a sick show, and all three people involved are über talented. Find out for yourself and go(o) watch them play at 10pm
