Aural Wes and RPM Presents RYAT, Banana Head, Russian Tsarlang, and Balcony Park
Aural Wes is teaming up with Radical Performance Machine for a spectacular show in Buddhist House tonight. We’re taking over both big rooms in the house to bring you a mixed dose of reverb heavy cassette dudes, tropical jamming, and Brainfeeder branded beats and vocals. Hit the jump to learn more about what you’re seeing in BuHo tonight.
RYAT is a self-described “vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer of avant-garde electronic music.” The Philadelphia native releases her music on Flying Lotus’s Brainfeeder label, also home to Teebs, Samiyam, Thundercat, and The Underachievers, to name but a few of their all star lineup. For the show in Buddhist House, RYAT will be teaming up with MAST for visuals. Banana Head is the dark bedroom pop project of Zully Adler ’11. He is the owner of Goaty Tapes, where he releases an array of DIY projects from around the world. Last year he released Goon House 7” on Lexi Disques. Russian Tsarlang’s brilliant last.fm description does him more justice than I possibly could: “Romantic low-fi death rock creepers from prolific Providence showman. Tslarlag sounds so incredibly wasted that he can barely string a song together, but somehow he manages to and it becomes something entirely new and amazing in the process.” Homie Airport used to be named Cancun Kid. They were almost called Balcony Park. They make music that is reminiscent of the best vacation you ever went on.
