CHRISTOPHER OWENS
Everybody rejoice and say "hallelujah," Christopher Owens is making a stop at the Memorial Chapel on the first day of classes. An ex-member of the band, Girls (RIP), Owens felt unhappy with the direction the band was heading in and left with tears in his eyes and inspiration in his heart. What do you do when that happens? You leave the band, go solo, and keep making your heavenly music. His solo debut, Lysandre, drops on 1/15. It is a concept album about, yes, some French girl he met named Lysandre, and about his early tours and success with Girls. I just downloaded it so I have no opinion, but from what I've heard, it is similar to the music he made with Girls. Opening the show will be Mara Connor, a musician who has performed at CMJ and went to Wes for a semester (thanks Twelve-College Exchange program). She was in Lyons Den while at Wes and has continued performing since her departure.
Tickets will be $5. More info about purchasing them should be available soon.
God bless.
