SLOWDANCE
If you’re keen on spending your Thursday evening in the throes of musical passion, you might head to Slowdance to seal the deal. They’re the catalyst for lovin’ this Valentine’s day- the crowd will be kept busy with delicate, upbeat dream pop as the Brooklyn outfit makes its way to Wes on the most sexuous night of the year. Frontwoman Quay Quinn-Settel’s unassuming lyrics (both English and Français) and clear, beautiful voice set moods that range from teasing to melancholy while resting upon quick guitar licks and synth-laden waves of dreamlike harmonies. They’ll be dishing out wistful (and often exotic) shoe-pop – and the timing couldn’t be better.
These guys draw influence from vintage acts such as The Beach Boys, Francoise Hardy, and New Order. Confident, tender and lively tunes await. Opening is homegrown Wes act Featherwood Bee.
Show them some love and come out to Westco Cafe at 10pm Thursday.
